Vitamin & Mineral Test
A laboratory panel of 12 key micronutrients and minerals from blood — calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, folate, vitamin B6 and B12, complemented by a small blood count. A broader view of vitamin and mineral status alongside targeted biotype tests.
The collection kit includes:
What the test measures
What the test measures. A panel of 12 parameters from venous blood: calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, complemented by a small blood count (hemogram), which helps correctly interpret the individual results (e.g. correlation with hematocrit).
Why this panel. Several of these substances (zinc, copper, magnesium, B6, B12, folate) are directly tied to the biotypes of the orthomolecular approach — their deficiency or excess can affect methylation, neurotransmitter production, and overall nervous system stability. The test gives a broader picture of vitamin and mineral status alongside the targeted biotype tests.
Who the test is suitable for
Suitable for anyone who wants a broader view of key vitamin and mineral status alongside a targeted biotype test — especially if your symptoms (fatigue, weakened immunity, mood or concentration issues) may be related to a deficiency or imbalance of zinc, copper, magnesium, B6, B12, or folate.
If you don't know which of the 5 main biotypes of the orthomolecular approach (or this complementary test) matches your symptoms, you can first take the free orientational screening (4 – 6 minutes).
How collection and evaluation work
How the sample is collected. This is a standard venous blood draw — not a home self-test. The draw is performed by a doctor or nurse (e.g. at your clinic or a sample collection point). You then send the sample back at your own expense (courier service) directly to a partner accredited laboratory.
- Order the test via the contact form — select "Vitamin & Mineral Test" and fill in your delivery details.
- We'll email you payment details and the documents needed to bill the collection provider.
- Arrange a venous blood draw with your doctor or at a sample collection point.
- You then send the sample back at your own expense (courier service) directly to the partner laboratory.
- You'll receive the result by email within 4 – 7 business days of the sample arriving at the laboratory.
Results. You receive the result electronically, clearly and comprehensibly formatted, typically within 4–7 business days (for a small number of parameters, exceptionally up to 14 business days).
What the test reveals — and what it doesn't
The result shows levels of 12 micronutrients and minerals including a blood count — a broader picture of nutritional status that can complement a targeted biotype test. It does not diagnose a specific orthomolecular approach biotype — that's what the specific tests are for (pyroluria, histamine, cortisol, heavy metals).
The test is not a medical diagnosis. PsyLab is an intermediary for lab tests from certified European partners — always discuss the result with your treating physician, who alone can establish a diagnosis and recommend treatment.
Frequently asked questions about the vitamin & mineral test
How exactly does the vitamin & mineral test work?
This is a standard venous blood draw — not a home self-test. The draw is performed by a doctor or nurse, for example at your clinic or a sample collection point. You then send the sample back at your own expense (courier service) directly to our partner accredited laboratory.
How much does the vitamin & mineral test cost?
The vitamin & mineral test (12 parameters from blood) costs €199. The price includes processing at the partner laboratory and electronic delivery of the result.
What exactly does the test measure?
A panel of 12 parameters: calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, complemented by a small blood count (hemogram), which helps correctly interpret the individual micronutrient results.
Why should I consider this test alongside a targeted biotype test?
Several of the measured substances — zinc, copper, magnesium, B6, B12, folate — are directly tied to the biotypes of the orthomolecular approach and affect methylation and neurotransmitter production. This panel gives a broader picture of vitamin and mineral status alongside a targeted test for a specific biotype (e.g. pyroluria or copper overload).
Is the test result a medical diagnosis?
No. PsyLab is an intermediary for lab tests, not a healthcare facility. The result is a laboratory measurement that should always be discussed with your doctor — only they can establish a diagnosis and treatment.
After the result
We'll discuss any low or imbalanced micronutrient values during a consultation, where we explain your result and the individual values; dosing and nutritional support are handled in the Consultation with a Doctor / Therapist (€149).
