Support

You don't have to do this alone.

Besides tests and vitamins, we also offer practical support along the way — digital guides, a consultation, help arranging safe medication tapering, and help finding a specialist who understands the biochemical approach.

Duration: 45 minutes Format: online or by phone
Read more▾

Informational consultation on laboratory results

The consultation is informational and educational in nature. PsyLab is not a healthcare provider, and the consultation is not conducted by a doctor or any other healthcare professional.

What we do during the consultation
During the consultation we can:

  • go through your laboratory test result with you and explain the individual values, reference ranges and information provided by the laboratory,
  • explain what the measured laboratory parameters mean and in what context they are used,
  • explain the principles of the Walsh approach and other approaches PsyLab provides information about,
  • compare the laboratory test result with the indicative result of the PsyLab screening,
  • provide general information on nutrition, lifestyle, vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements,
  • explain generally available professional information and help you prepare questions for your doctor or another healthcare professional,
  • let you know when it is appropriate to see a doctor or another relevant healthcare professional.

If the result or the information provided by the client points to a question that requires medical assessment, we will recommend that the client contact the relevant healthcare professional.

The consultation takes place online (Zoom/Meet) or by phone. It lasts 45 minutes. We will arrange a time by email after you order.

Therapeutic Consultation · Doctor / Therapist

Consultation with a Doctor / Therapist (45 min)

A professional consultation with a specialized doctor or therapist who works from your lab results — unlike the educational consultation, this involves genuine clinical guidance.

Duration: 45 minutes Format: online or by phone
Read more▾

What we do during the consultation
As part of the consultation, the doctor or therapist can:

  • establish or confirm a medical or psychiatric diagnosis,
  • assess whether a specific illness or health disorder is the cause of your difficulties,
  • provide healthcare,
  • determine a treatment plan,
  • prescribe medication and decide on its suitability,
  • recommend starting, changing the dose of, or stopping medication.

How this differs from the standard Educational Consultation (€75). The Educational Consultation helps you get oriented — explaining your laboratory results, the individual values, and related professional information. It does not involve clinical guidance or treatment. The Doctor/Therapist Consultation, by contrast, is a genuine professional consultation with a specialized doctor or therapist from the PsyLab network, who works from your actual lab results and proposes or adjusts a course of action — including questions that require clinical judgment (e.g. interactions with medication, dosing, medical history).

PsyLab is not a medical facility; we facilitate access to professionals who specialize in the biochemical approach to mental wellness.

The consultation takes place online (Zoom/Meet) or by phone and lasts 45 minutes. We will arrange a time by email after you order, subject to the specific professional's availability.

In Europe there is one specialized pharmacy that produces gradually decreasing (tapering) prescriptions for psychiatric medications. The pharmacy prepares an individual batch with precisely dosed, gradual reduction of the active substance — safer than "breaking a tablet" blindly.

PsyLab acts as an intermediary — we fill out the form on your behalf and help with communication and logistics. Always discuss the prescription itself and your treatment with your attending physician.

The €49 fee covers the consultation, filling out the form, and arranging contact. The cost of the prescription itself and postage is paid separately at the pharmacy.

Medication can help — but it shouldn't be guesswork

Psychiatric medication can be essential for severe depression, mania, psychosis, agitation, or dangerous behavioral instability. But a diagnosis alone doesn't reveal the underlying biochemical pattern — or which drug mechanism is actually likely to help. When a medication's effect on serotonin, dopamine, or norepinephrine doesn't match the client's biology, it can do more than simply fail to work — it can make the instability worse.

Undermethylation, overmethylation, copper overload, pyroluria and other nutrient imbalances strongly influence whether a medication helps, causes side effects, gradually stops working, or fails outright. That's why it makes sense to combine the right medication with Walsh testing and biochemical correction — matching the drug mechanism to the actual symptom pattern, while also supporting sleep, methylation, copper-zinc balance, antioxidant capacity, cellular energy, diet, and toxin clearance.

Methylation: how vitamins drive it

An overview of the methylation cycle — how it's driven by vitamins B6, B12, folate, B2, B3, magnesium and zinc, how it relates to homocysteine, neurotransmitter production (serotonin, dopamine, GABA), histamine breakdown, and mood. (PDF in Slovak.)

Looking for a therapist, health coach, or doctor?

An in-person consultation usually isn't necessary, because all the important content can be conveyed online too — from interpreting your results to setting up supplementation.

For pyroluria specifically, there is also a network of specialized therapists, coaches, and doctors focused on this biotype. All of them are comprehensively trained and have demonstrated their knowledge with a final exam. They work from lab results and focus on reliable diagnostics rather than generic advice — giving you individualized, expert support grounded in biochemical knowledge and practical experience.

Therapy with a specialist abroad typically runs to several thousand euros. Support through PsyLab — tests, vitamins, consultation, and intermediary services — is usually in the range of a few hundred euros.

If you're looking for a vetted contact for a therapist abroad, we're happy to provide a referral.

Have questions? We're happy to help you figure out which form of support fits you best.

Want to become a therapist in Slovakia?

We're expanding our network of practitioners in Slovakia and are looking for a general practitioner or psychiatrist with an interest in the biochemical approach — board certification is not a requirement.
